MONSTER.COM
When Monster.com wanted to add signage to it's newly designed and built headquarters in Florence, SC, they asked us to create a colorful, dramatic icon that’s easily visible from heavily travelled I-95, which runs near the facility. Initially, we specified that the Trump (Monster's mascot) environmental graphics be fabricated as a two-dimensional, aluminum piece. However, we decided that didn’t provide enough visual “pop.” So, we concepted the project as a 3-D icon – Trump hadn’t been rendered this way before - and contacted Atlanta-based Chisel 3D. Working with RTSPC Pinnacle and Chisel 3d, we were able to fabricate and install the 20'x 10' sign, made of expanded-polystyrene (EPS) foam with a supporting steel armature and protective, polyurethane hardcoat in just under one month.
The project was greeted with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Gov. Mark Sanford and State Sen. Hugh Leatherman, as well as Florence County officials and local business leaders. A monument sign was also added at the head of the driveway to greet people as they entered the facility.
